GLASNOST HOLLYWOOD
In the spring of 1991 I was given an interesting and unique assignment by Lloyd Ziff, at the time the Creative Director of the new arts magazine PUSH! Travel to Moscow with the Russian writer David Gurevich (From Lenin to Lennon) and do an exposé on Mosfilm, the Russian equivalent to Hollywood. Boris Yeltsin was President, The Soviet Union had yet to be dissolved, and Moscow seemed like the wild west at the beginning of the gold rush. We spent a week on movie sets, with film moguls and especially tailing a young crop of talented actors from stage to parties.
